Job Description:
INDIALAW LLP is inviting applications for the position of Associate in its Retail & Tech Team at the Mumbai office. The role offers exposure to title search, property due diligence, banking and recovery matters, legal research, and AI-enabled legal processes.
Details:
• Position: Associate – Retail & Tech Team

• Experience Required: Minimum 1 Year (Young professionals with at least 1 year of experience may apply)
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation, review, and quality assurance of Title Search Reports (TSRs), Title Investigation Reports (TIRs), and legal opinions relating to immovable properties
• Analysis, validation, and refinement of title search and due diligence reports
• Assisting in legal due diligence exercises for Banks, Financial Institutions, NBFCs, and Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs)
• Review and assessment of Non-Performing Asset (NPA) accounts, security documents, enforcement actions, and recovery proceedings
• Risk categorisation, identification of title defects, and formulation of risk mitigation recommendations
• Conducting legal research and drafting legal opinions, notices, advisory notes, and transaction-related documentation
Eligibility & Requirements:
• LL.B. Degree from a recognised university
• Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting skills
• Interest in real estate law, property due diligence, title verification, banking and finance, and recovery laws
• Understanding of land records, registration processes, encumbrance analysis, and property documentation
• Exposure to SARFAESI, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), Debt Recovery proceedings, ARC transactions, or banking law will be an added advantage
• Familiarity with AI-enabled legal tools, legal technology platforms, or data-driven legal processes preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
