About the Opportunity:
Pacta is inviting applications for a full-time Legal Associate (Transactions) role at its Bengaluru office. Pacta is a boutique law and policy consulting practice working at the intersection of law, social impact, and governance, collaborating with civil society organisations, non-profits, universities, and institutions to drive meaningful change.
This role is ideal for candidates who want to apply legal skills in a purpose-driven environment, with a strong focus on contracts, compliance, and legal risk mitigation, rather than pure policy research.
Role:
• Legal Associate (Transactions)
Location:
• Bengaluru (On-site)
Experience Required:
• 1–5 years PQE
Key Responsibilities (Indicative):
• Drafting and reviewing agreements including MoUs, MSAs, NDAs, grant agreements, and service contracts
• Handling matters related to civil construction, EPC contracts, and real estate
• Developing and standardising contract templates
• Drafting legal notices and responses
• Advising on legal, regulatory, and secretarial compliances (Trusts, Section 8 companies, Societies)
• Managing employment contracts, termination documentation, and settlements
• Ensuring compliance with labour laws (Shops & Establishments, PF, Minimum Wages, etc.)
• Advising on POSH policies and conducting related workshops
• Conducting legal research, preparing opinions, and drafting briefs
• Supporting compliance audits and documentation processes
• Engaging with clients and supporting cross-functional initiatives
Eligibility & Skills:
• LL.B./LL.M. from a reputed institution
• Strong foundation in contract law and compliance
• Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
• Strong communication and articulation
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to learn
• Knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage
