Job Description:
Matter Entertainment is inviting applications for the position of Legal Associate to join its in-house legal team in Mumbai. This role is ideal for legal professionals interested in media, entertainment, and intellectual property law, offering exposure to talent engagements, production, licensing, brand endorsements, and commercial transactions within the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities:
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts related to talent engagements, production, distribution, licensing, and intellectual property rights
• Collaborating with clients, production teams, talent, external counsel, and internal stakeholders for contract execution
• Identifying and mitigating legal risks in contractual arrangements
• Advising on copyright, trademark, licensing, and other intellectual property matters
• Monitoring developments in entertainment law and intellectual property regulations
• Assisting with due diligence, legal research, and other legal projects as required
Eligibility & Preference:
• LL.B. degree from a recognized institution
• Enrollment with the Bar Council of India preferred
• 1–2 years of experience in media, entertainment, intellectual property, or related legal fields
• Strong expertise in copyright, trademarks, licensing agreements, and distribution contracts
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, legal writing, and research skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine interest in the entertainment industry and its legal framework
• Knowledge of Indian and international media, entertainment, and IPR regulations
