About the Opportunity:
Applications are invited for the role of Policy & Governance Intern (Public Finance) at the Nation First Policy Research & Change Foundation (NFPRC).
This internship offers a strong opportunity to work at the intersection of public finance, governance, and policymaking, with a focus on understanding how financial systems impact institutional functioning in India.
Role:
• Policy & Governance Intern (Public Finance)
Location:
• Delhi / NCR (Onsite)
Key Areas of Work:
• Studying urban municipal finance and fiscal sustainability of Urban Local Bodies
• Analysing municipal budgets, balance sheets, and financing mechanisms (bonds, transfers, etc.)
• Conducting financial and sectoral analysis of Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs)
• Examining fiscal policy frameworks across central, state, and local levels
• Tracking macroeconomic indicators such as deficits, debt, and revenue trends
• Preparing policy briefs, analytical reports, and research notes
• Assisting in data analysis and visualisation
Eligibility:
• Students or recent graduates in Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Management, or STEM fields
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability to interpret budget documents and policy frameworks
• Clear and structured writing ability
Preferred Skills:
• Ability to simplify complex policy and governance issues
• Understanding of public administration and legislative processes
• Strong communication skills in English (Hindi proficiency preferred)
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and presentation tools
