About NLSIU

About CLAP Chair

The Consumer Law and Practice (CLAP) Chair, established in August 2008 at NLSIU, Bangalore, is the first of its kind in India. Initiated by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India, it aims to advance research, teaching, and training in Consumer Law and Practice.

Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Patil has been leading this Chair since its inception and serves as the Chief Editor of IJCLP.

The International Journal on Consumer Law and Practice (IJCLP) (ISSN 2347-2731) is an Open-Access, Blind-Peer-reviewed Law Journal, published annually by NLSIU under the CLAP Chair. Since 2013, IJCLP has provided a scholarly platform for legal discourse in consumer law.

Articles (6,000-8,000 words) (inclusive of footnotes)
Case Comment / Legislative Briefs (2,500-3,000 words) (inclusive of footnotes)
Book Review (2,000 words) (inclusive of footnotes)
For book reviews, a soft or hard copy of the book must be submitted along with a consent letter from the publisher or author.
