About The Organisers
The idea of ‘Symbiosis’ is nurtured by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar on the principles of vedic thought ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means ‘World as One Family’. Symbiosis Law School (SLS) Hyderabad was established in 2014 inheriting splendid novelty, dynamism and excellence in education of Symbiosis International University, Pune. The Legacy of Symbiosis Law Schools in excellence and quality began with Symbiosis Law School Pune, which is consistently ranked among top 10 law schools in India in the last 13 years.
The Centre for Specialisation in Cyber Law Studies (CSCLS) of Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad (SLSH) is an in-house Centre established to focus on different aspects of cyber law through research, events and programmes. The Centre works with the aim of propagating the knowledge of rights and duties that a person needs to be aware of while navigating through the cyberspace.
About The Conference
The 4th National Cyber Law Conference in collaboration with Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence- Data Security Council of India (CCoE-DSCI) is a two-day event, scheduled to be held on 12th & 13th April, 2024 at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad. It is Supported by Tatva Legal and Cyber Blog India, Knowledge Partner Asian School of Cyber Law, Techno-Legal Partner Manupatra Media Partner Lawctopus and Food Partner Subway.
The objective of the Conference is to discuss and deliberate on this major issue and to understand aspects and dynamics of the same. The Conference allows Paper Presentation on the theme “Data Privacy and Protection in India and Beyond – Challenges and Innovation”. A book containing the Top 15 papers shall also be published. The outcome of the Conference would facilitate the organisers, participants and other stakeholders to make legislative and policy interventions to bring about positive social and legal transformation.
The Conference will also include multiple other events for the participants to engage in and to gain deeper insights into the field of data protection and privacy such as a Workshop on Privacy Concerns in Online Activism and a Panel Discussion on Data Privacy Standards and Harmonization Efforts. The Conference shall also have an E-Sports Tournament: Brawlhalla for the participants to engage in some friendly competition and win exciting prizes.

Academics, scholars, researchers, and students from various disciplines are encouraged to submit thoroughly researched original papers and case studies.

- Data Protection in Industries dealing with Sensitive Data;

- Data Privacy in Emerging and Disruptive Technologies;
- Challenges in Cross-Border Data Transfer and Data Localization;
- Scope of Consent in Data Protection Frameworks;
- Data Protection and Reasonable Security Obligations;
- Role of Data Processors in India’s Data Protection Regulations.
- Comparative Data Protection Laws
Papers can be submitted on any topic related to the main theme of the Conference. Prospective authors must aim to provide the readers with a descriptive and critical analysis of the existing literature on the subject, and attempt to add to the existing scholarship.
Submission Guidelines
- Well-researched and high-quality papers or case studies are invited from all sections of society for presentation at the Conference.
- An Abstract of 250-300 words with 3-5 keywords must be submitted by 4th March, 2024 through this link.
- The submission shall be accepted based on the preliminary review of the abstract by the Editorial Team.
- The Editorial Team reserves the right to reject or accept any submission based on relevancy, addition to existing literature, creativity and adherence to the prescribed guidelines.
- The abstract must be in font style Garamond font size 12, alignment justified, and 1.5 line spacing. There should be no references or citations in the abstract.
- The final manuscript must adhere to a word limit of 3000-4000 words, excluding footnotes.

Registration Fee can be submitted post the intimidation of selection of abstract. This amount is inclusive of GST. The amount paid shall include Breakfast, Lunch, High tea and Dinner for the duration of the event. The amount, however, is not inclusive of accommodation charges.
