Call for Membership Applications: National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC-WICCI)
The National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC), under the aegis of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), is inviting applications for membership to its National Council for the 2024–25 term. WICCI is a premier national chamber advancing the interests of women entrepreneurs, professionals, and business leaders across sectors and regions.
About the Role
This opportunity is open to female legal professionals in India who are committed to advancing and safeguarding legal rights. As a Council Member, you will play a significant role in promoting legal reform, raising rights-based awareness, engaging with policymakers, and providing pro bono legal support to underserved communities.
Scope of Work

Contribute to initiatives aimed at legal reform and protection of rights at the state and national levels

Lead public legal education and rights awareness efforts

Participate in pro bono legal services through a network of advocates
-
Collaborate with government bodies and legislators to influence law and policy
-
Monitor and report on rights violations and legal developments
-
Engage in policy drafting and propose solutions through public-private collaboration
-
Serve as a leader in strategy, outreach, and thought leadership within the Consortium
Mode: Hybrid
Tenure: One year
Last Date to Apply: May 10, 2025
Certification: Provided only upon successful completion of the full tenure
Eligibility Criteria

Must be a qualified female advocate registered with the Bar Council of India

At least 1–2 years of active legal practice or equivalent experience

Demonstrated interest in constitutional law, human rights, or related fields

Legal drafting, writing, and advocacy skills
-
Prior internships with legal firms, organizations, or individual advocates
-
Experience or interest in social media, PR, or content creation
-
Leadership potential in legal projects and public engagement
-
Willingness to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Commitment to pro bono legal services and community outreach
-
Familiarity with legislative and policy-making processes

Ability to contribute regularly to meetings, advocacy, and community-based initiatives
