West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS)
Established in 1999, WBNUJS is one of India’s premier law universities, known for academic excellence, inclusivity, and social responsibility. WBNUJS has hosted flagship events like the NUJS-HSF Moot, NUJS ADR Mediation Competition, and Para-Invicta — India’s only sports fest for specially-abled students.
About the 1st NUJS National Disability Law Moot Court Competition
A pioneering national-level moot focused exclusively on the legal rights and protections of persons with disabilities (PwDs), grounded in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, and related laws.
Objectives:

Promote academic engagement with disability law among law students.

Encourage dialogue on access to justice, workplace discrimination, education rights, and inclusion.

Provide a national platform for advanced legal argumentation judged by eminent professionals.

Eligibility & Team Composition

Open to all undergraduate law students enrolled in recognized Indian universities.

No limit on number of teams per institution; cross-institutional teams allowed.

Each team: minimum 2, maximum 3 members.

Postgraduate students not eligible.
Format & Rounds
-
Memo Qualifying Round: Submission of written memorials for Petitioner and Respondent sides.
-
Oral Rounds: Preliminary, Octa-finals, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Final.

Researcher’s Test: 30-mark test for teams qualifying for oral rounds.

All oral rounds will be held offline at WBNUJS campus, Kolkata.
