Workshop Announcement | 26 February 2026 | “Law, Literature, Language, and Culture: A Digital Ethnography Approach”

Symbiosis Law School, Pune is pleased to announce a one-day academic workshop scheduled for 26 February 2026.

Organised under the aegis of the Symbiosis Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (SCALSAR), in collaboration with the Symbiosis Culture, Language, Law & Justice Centre, this workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary engagement with law as a cultural, linguistic, and narrative practice.

The workshop will foreground methodological approaches including:

• Digital ethnography
• Digital humanities
• Narrative inquiry
• Socio-legal analysis of lived experience, power, and justice

The objective is to examine how law operates not merely as doctrine, but as text, discourse, culture, and lived structure.

Call for Submissions

Submissions are invited from:

• Academics and faculty members
• Doctoral researchers
• Students and scholars from law, sociology, anthropology, literature, gender studies, tribal and indigenous studies
• Researchers engaging with marginalised communities and allied interdisciplinary fields

Both full papers and working papers are welcome.

Scholars whose research engages with law as lived experience, language, culture, and power structures are encouraged to submit and circulate this call within their academic networks.
