Asian Law Student’s Association (ALSA)
Asian Law Student’s Association (ALSA) is a Student-Run, Non-Profit and Non-Political Organization comprising of 17 National Chapters all across Asia including India. ALSA focuses to promote an Awareness of Justice and Rule of Law all across Asia.
ALSA has been a consistent progressive organization and has been successful in establishing itself across various countries of Asia including Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, etc.
ALSA INDIA National Chapter
India has been successful in recognizing itself as one of the National Chapters at ALSA International. ALSA India’s vision is to promote a better understanding of Communication among the Law students all across India. We stand to encourage the students to develop a spirit of serving Justice to the society through networking among the Law students all across India and Asia as well. ALSA India is looking forward for the enhancement of the capabilities of the law students to become Internationally Recognized, Socially Responsible, Academically Committed and Legally Skilled.
About the Speaker
Dr. Pallab Das is the Founding Dean and Associate Professor of Law at Centurion University and was a former faculty at NLU Odisha. He has a total experience of 9.5 years in the teaching and legal industries. Dr. Das completed his LLM from Swansea University, UK, on an International Excellence Scholarship, 2015 with a specialization in International Commercial and Maritime Law and his BSL.LLB from ILS Law College, Pune University. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, and an associate member of the Asian Institute of Alternate Dispute Resolution, Malaysia.
About the Webinar
ALSA India is organising a National Webinar on 10th May, 2023 respectively under the theme ‘REFORMS IN LEGAL EDUCATION’. Through this webinar we aim to spread the purpose of 5 year llb programme. Participants are welcome to ask questions during the interactive session. The main goal of the webinar is to brief participants on modern legal education, including changes to the curriculum and new standards for recruiting academicians. It will also include information on the necessity of skill-based education and the introduction of dispute resolution in higher education. The discussion will not only shed light on the changes that need to be made to the legal system as it currently stands, but it will also educate our minds as to what fresh changes need to be made to the legal education system in India today.
