The prison administration in India was originated by T.B Macaulay in 1835. Following the proposal of the lord Macaulay committee, the development of the prison system commenced from this period. In order to understand the long journey of reforms from 1835 till date, as to what reforms have surfaced on the ground apart from the challenges which have appeared to the fore. In order to peep into the very area of Prison reforms in India with comparison of the best global practices from an insider’s perspective, this national webinar has been conceptualized to be organized to provide information and insights to the participants.
