About the Competition
The Vox Publica: 1st PIL Drafting Competition aims to enhance students’ legal drafting skills and understanding of Public Interest Litigation (PIL) mechanisms. Participants will analyze pressing legal and social issues, advocating for public interest and social justice.
Theme: Promoting Social Equity Through Legal Aid and Public Interest Advocacy in Contemporary Times
Sub-Themes
Participants can draft a PIL on any of the following themes:
Digital Financial Fraud
Gender-Neutral Laws
Child Labor and Enforcement of Laws
Prison Reforms
Enforcement of Animal Welfare Laws
Cybersecurity and Data Privacy
Food Adulteration
OR participants may draft a PIL on any other issue addressing:
Access to justice for marginalized communities
Challenges in implementing legal aid services
Advocacy for social and economic rights
Addressing systemic discrimination and promoting equality
Environmental justice and its impact on vulnerable populations

Legal Research: Use of statutes, case laws, and sources – 20 Marks
Structure & Clarity: Logical flow, coherence, and clarity – 20 Marks
Originality: Innovative arguments and unique perspectives – 20 Marks
Practicality: Feasibility and effectiveness of legal remedies – 20 Marks
