4th Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition (2025) – NLU Assam
About Vox Anatolis
The Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition (“The Voice of the East”) is a unique initiative by NLU Assam, focusing on legal issues pertinent to Northeast India. The competition has previously addressed significant issues like the National Register of Citizens and Biodiversity Laws of Assam.
The fourth edition (2025) will center around the ongoing debate on the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) and its application in the region. This initiative aims to promote legal scholarship and mooting culture in the Northeast, fostering discussions on constitutional and policy issues affecting the region.
About the University – NLU Assam
The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) was established under the Assam Act No. XXV of 2009. With the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court as its Chancellor, the university offers modern legal education and research opportunities, attracting students from diverse backgrounds across India.
About the Centre for Tribal Law, Policy, and Justice
The Centre for Tribal Law, Policy, and Justice at NLU Assam is dedicated to promoting justice for tribal communities, women, and children. The Centre integrates sociology, customary law, and constitutional values to research tribal legal systems and contribute to policy development.
Eligibility
- Open to all students pursuing an undergraduate law degree from a recognized institution.
- No limit on the number of teams per institution.
- Top 32 teams from the Memorial Qualification Round will advance to the Oral Rounds (held online).
Awards and Prizes
Best Team Award: ₹80,000 + SCC Online Subscription (₹72,000 value)
Runners-Up Team Award: ₹50,000
Best Memorial Award: ₹20,000
Best Speaker Award: ₹20,000
Best Researcher Award: ₹10,000
