Christ Academy Institute of Law Presents: 1st Inter-Collegiate Mediation Competition 2025

About the Competition

Christ Academy Institute of Law, Bengaluru, is proud to launch its 1st Inter-Collegiate Mediation Competition 2025, aimed at promoting ADR awareness, cultivating negotiation skills, and preparing law students to be the next generation of collaborative problem-solvers. This event provides a unique platform to experience real-time mediation sessions, guided by impartial mediators.


Eligibility & Team Composition

  • Open to all students enrolled in law schools across India.

  • Each team must consist of 3 members:

    • 1 Mediator

    • 1 Client

    • 1 Counsel

  • Each law school may send up to 3 teams.

  • Cross-institutional teams are not allowed.

  • The roles of the team members are fixed throughout the competition.


Competition Format

  • Preliminary Rounds: 15 April 2025 (Online)

  • Semi-Finals: 16 April 2025 (Online)

  • Final Round: 29 April 2025 (Offline at CAIL Campus, Bengaluru)


Registration Details


Dress Code

All participants must adhere to formal business attire throughout the competition.


Rules & Regulations

  • The competition will be conducted in English.

  • Teams will be divided into sub-groups: one Mediator and one Mediating Pair (Client & Counsel).

  • In each round, two Mediating Teams and two Mediators will participate.

  • Teams will be randomly assigned roles before each round and will receive their confidential case information ten minutes prior.

  • No use of electronic devices is allowed during the mediation sessions.

  • Audio or video recording of sessions is strictly prohibited.

  • Any unauthorized sharing of confidential information will result in disqualification without appeal.

  • Develop key skills in negotiation, problem-solving, and client handling.

  • Understand real-time dynamics of mediation and dispute resolution.

  • Engage with peers from across the country and expand professional networks.
