About the Course:
The British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), in partnership with the Centre for Digital Law at Singapore Management University (SMU), is offering a Short Course on Artificial Intelligence Governance. This online course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the legal, regulatory, and ethical issues arising in the context of artificial intelligence, with a focus on AI in the legal sphere and comparative governance frameworks.

Eligibility:

  • Legal practitioners, law students, academics, government representatives, civil society members, and business professionals with an interest in AI and law.

  • Individuals from under-represented communities in the legal field may apply for scholarships.

Course Details and Key Topics:

  • Duration: 10 sessions on 8, 15, 22, 29 October, 5, 12, 19, 26 November, 3, 10 December 2025

  • Time: 10:00–12:00 (UK time) | Format: Online via Zoom

  • Topics include:

    • Introduction to AI, Law and Ethics

    • Technology and AI in the Legal Sphere

    • Emerging Ethical Issues and Challenges

    • AI Governance and Regulation
