About Vishwakarma University

Vishwakarma University (VU), Pune, is a state-private university established in 2017 as part of the Vishwakarma Group of Institutions, which has a legacy of over 35 years. About the Organiser – Faculty of Law

Established in 2018, the Faculty of Law at Vishwakarma University offers LL.M., Ph.D., and LL.B. (Five-year and Three-year) programs, approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The faculty emphasizes academic excellence, practical training, and impactful legal research through initiatives such as:

  • Legal Aid Clinic
  • Research Cell

The department is actively involved in legal literacy, consultancy, and transdisciplinary research to promote access to justice and support marginalized communities.

About the Moot Court Competition

The Shri Ramnath Agarwal Moot Court Competition 2025 is designed to develop participants’ legal research, writing, and advocacy skills through simulated appellate court proceedings. The competition will enable students to apply legal knowledge to hypothetical scenarios, fostering critical thinking and ethical lawyering.

Eligibility

  • Open to bona fide law students enrolled in Three-year or Five-year LL.B. programs from any institution in India.
  • LL.M. and Diploma students are not eligible.
  • Each team must have either two or three members, with two speakers and an optional researcher.

Mode of Competition

  • Preliminary Round – Online
  • Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals – Offline at Vishwakarma University, Pune

Awards and Prizes

  • Best Team – Cash prize of Rs. 12,000 and certificate
  • First Runner-Up – Cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and certificate
  • Best Memorial – Cash prize of Rs. 2,000 and certificate
  • Best Mooter – Cash prize of Rs. 2,000 and certificate
  • Certificates will be provided to all participants

Memorial Submission

  • Soft copies of both Petitioner and Respondent memorials (PDF format) must be emailed to mootcourts@vupune.ac.in by 3 March 2025, 11:59 PM (IST).
