RESEARCH PROJECT ON “REVISITING THE LAW AND POLICY OF PRISON ADMINISTRATION IN INDIA” MNLU MUMBAI [REGISTER BY 31ST MARCH]

The Centre for Research in Criminal Justice (CRCJ) was set up in January 2018 at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai with the objective to promote research in the area of Criminal Law and examine the Criminal Justice System of the country, in order to provide concrete suggestions for the rectification of the lacunae in both the procedural as well as substantive laws. In pursuance of the same CRCJ MNLU Mumbai is undertaking a Yearlong, Pan-India Project to Revisit the Law and Policy of Prison Administration in India. For this CRCJ is engaging researchers and professionals from all over India. 

About the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice

The Centre for Research in Criminal Justice was established to promote and advance national and comparative research and scholarship in the area of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, Criminology, Victimology, International Criminal Law and Human Rights. Key objectives of the Centre include researching, analysing and critically examining the laws, policies, and programs related to criminal laws, communicating the findings and recommendations to the agencies of Government concerned with the same and disseminate the finding through publications, workshops, seminars, and other means. Recently, the Centre has submitted its research work in “Suggestive Amendments in Criminal Laws” to the Government of India.

CRCJ has undertaken a Major PAN India Research for the year 2021. The Researchers will be engaged on a pro-bono basis from all over India from the field of Law and Professionals including Lawyers, Police, Prison Officials, Activists, Social Workers, Medical professionals, Journalists and Students (law or criminology) for the yearlong Research Project.
