Dr. Alejandra del Pilar Ortiz-Ayala, Research Associate and Political Scientist, is inviting applications for a Freelance Research Assistant position under a project funded by the Folke Bernadotte Academy, titled:
“Investigating the Role of Socio-Psychological Factors in the Perpetuation of Security Sector Violence: A Case Study of the Colombian National Police.”
About the Role:
The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge international research project exploring peacebuilding, political psychology, and police reform. The work involves handling sensitive qualitative data and demands strong research ethics and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:

Transcription of research interviews
-
Translation between Spanish ↔ English

Coding of interviews using NVivo or similar qualitative analysis tools
Eligibility & Requirements:

Excellent command of written and spoken Spanish and English

Prior experience in qualitative research (interviews, transcription, coding) preferred

Interest in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and civil-military relations

Must be based in the European Union (EU)
