About the Internship
LawZapo is offering a remote, paid legal internship tailored for law students and recent graduates interested in gaining practical experience in criminal law—specifically in handling cheque bounce matters under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Selected interns will contribute to live matters by assisting in the drafting of written replies used in real court proceedings.
Eligibility

Law students (from 1st year onwards in both 5-year and 3-year courses)

Must be reliable, deadline-oriented, and comfortable working remotely
Roles and Responsibilities

Drafting replies/written statements in response to Section 138 cheque bounce complaints

Analyzing legal notices, complaints, and supporting documents

Conducting legal research and identifying relevant case laws

Assisting lawyers in preparing compliant and effective defence drafts
