The ADR Board, Department of Law, University of Calcutta has officially unveiled the prize pool for the Calcutta University International Mediation Competition (CUIMC) 2026.
This year’s competition offers a total prize pool of ₹1,00,000 (approximately USD 1,087), along with exclusive internship opportunities for top-performing teams, making it an exciting platform for students interested in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The competition is designed to provide participants with a realistic and engaging mediation experience, allowing them to develop and demonstrate essential professional skills such as negotiation, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. Through carefully designed problem scenarios, teams will navigate complex disputes, represent clients in mediation sessions, and work towards mutually beneficial outcomes.
Beyond the prize pool, CUIMC 2026 aims to create a vibrant academic and professional space where participants can engage with peers, mentors, and ADR practitioners while strengthening their understanding of mediation as a modern and effective dispute resolution mechanism.
Participants will have the opportunity to refine their communication, persuasion, and negotiation strategies, while also gaining valuable exposure to the practical aspects of mediation practice. The competition thus serves not only as a contest of skill but also as a learning platform for aspiring dispute resolution professionals.
Students passionate about mediation, negotiation, and dispute resolution are encouraged to participate and experience the dynamic world of ADR through CUIMC 2026.
