Women prisoners constitute a significant portion of Indian jails. And yet they are not given due attention. The conditions in Indian prisons remain quite questionable despite multiple committees and efforts.
It is time to revamp Indian prison and the life of prisoners, not just during their institutionalization but also beyond that.
