About the Ministry

The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is the apex body of the Government of India responsible for formulating and administering policies, laws, and regulations related to the development and welfare of women and children across the country.

About the Internship

MWCD is inviting applications from women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers associated with universities or institutions for its Internship Programme. The programme offers participants the opportunity to undertake pilot projects and micro-studies aligned with the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives, providing hands-on experience in policy analysis and advocacy for women’s and children’s welfare.

Eligibility Criteria

Open to women candidates from non-Tier I cities and rural parts of India.
Applicants must be enrolled in or associated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution.
Age requirement: 21-40 years.

Stipend & Benefits

Stipend: ₹20,000 per month.
Travel Reimbursement: Deluxe/AC bus or 3-tier AC train fare for joining and returning after completion.
Accommodation: Hostel facility on a sharing basis in Delhi for the internship duration.

Internship Duration & Batches

The programme runs in four batches per year, each lasting two months:

May-June
August-September
November-December
February-March

Up to 20 interns per batch.

Application Deadline

Last date to apply: March 10.
Applications must be submitted two months before the internship start date, between 1st and 10th of the month (e.g., March 1-10 for the May-June batch).

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted online via the Internship Programme portal.
Candidates can only apply once—previous interns are not eligible to reapply.
