About FSSAI
The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body established under the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006, operating under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. As the apex regulatory body, FSSAI ensures food safety and compliance with food standards across the country.
About the Internship
Now in its third year, the FSSAI Internship Scheme offers young talent a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food regulation and safety administration through a mutually beneficial Industry-Academia collaboration.
Eligibility
- Open to students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Postgraduate degree or higher in Law (LL.B/LL.M) from a recognized institute in India or abroad.
- Legal internships are available only at FSSAI (HQ), New Delhi.
Duration
- Minimum: 2 months
- Maximum: 6 months
- Internships shorter than 2 months will not be considered.

Work Environment
- Interns must have their own laptops.
- FSSAI will provide workspace, internet access, and other necessities.
- Local lodging and travel expenses will not be covered.
Internship Assignments
Interns will be attached to various Divisions at FSSAI (HQ)/Regional Offices/Laboratories based on their academic background and technical expertise. They will work on projects related to Food and Nutrition Management Processes.
Stipend
- A stipend of ₹10,000/- will be awarded for the entire internship period to deserving interns.
- Selection for the stipend will be based on:
- Attendance
- Assessment by reporting officers
- Evaluation of the final report by the Committee
Certification
- Successful interns will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Human Resource Division, FSSAI (HQ) upon submission, review, and approval of their final report/presentation.
