The University of Bristol’s School for Policy Studies is inviting applications for the position of Senior Research Associate in Climate Policy and Justice as part of the Horizon Europe–funded ACCLIMATE Project — Accelerating Climate Action: Navigating Towards a Low-Emissions, Climate-Resilient Future.
The project unites top research institutions across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas to advance equitable and effective climate strategies aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Eligibility:

A relevant postgraduate research degree (or equivalent experience) in political science, public policy, environmental governance, or a related discipline.

Strong expertise in climate policy, climate justice, or sustainability transitions.

Proven experience with qualitative research methods and policy analysis.

Excellent communication skills and a record of high-quality research outputs.

Motivation to engage with policymakers and stakeholders for advancing just climate action.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Support Work Package 2, focusing on assessing the adequacy, feasibility, and fairness of national climate commitments and policies.

Collaborate with Professor Chukwumerije Okereke and an interdisciplinary international team.

Contribute to research outputs including academic publications, policy briefs, and reports for the European Commission.

Assist in project coordination, stakeholder consultations, and compliance with data management standards.

Present findings at international conferences and policy workshops.
Location and Contract Details:

Based at the School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol (UK).

Remote working within the UK will be considered.

Contract: Open-ended with fixed funding for 12 months.

Salary: £43,482 – £50,253 per annum.
