About:
The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), under the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), is seeking a Research Adviser to lead socio-economic impact assessments of internal displacement. The role involves developing robust methodologies, generating actionable insights, and producing policy-relevant, donor-ready outputs.

Eligibility:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s required, PhD preferred) in economics, development studies, disaster risk management, environmental studies, statistics, or related fields

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in applied research, socio-economic analysis, or policy-focused assessments

  • Strong quantitative skills; proficiency in R, STATA, Python, or similar tools

  • Experience coordinating consultants, managing donor-funded projects, and multi-stakeholder engagement

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and improvement of socio-economic impact assessment methodologies

  • Conduct data analysis, estimations, ground-truthing, and validation of results

  • Coordinate consultants, research partners, and peer reviewers to ensure quality

  • Draft policy briefs, reports, and other publications

  • Represent IDMC in technical workshops, donor meetings, and dissemination events

Perks & Location:

  • Remote work with NRC representation offices in Berlin, Brussels, London, or Oslo

  • Contract: 1 year, with extension possibilities

  • Travel: 10–15%
