The Australian National University (ANU) is inviting applications for the position of Research Fellow in the Department of Political and Social Change, located in Canberra, ACT, Australia. The position is ideal for scholars specializing in the politics and societies of the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, or India, or those with a comparative focus on Southeast Asian, Northeast Asian, or South Asian countries.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates with a Ph.D. (or near completion) in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, or related disciplines.

  • Proven research expertise and publication record in the relevant regional or thematic areas.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to teaching and collaborative academic projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original and high-quality research on political and social change in Asia.

  • Teach and mentor students within ANU’s joint programs with Ritsumeikan University.

  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary research initiatives and contribute to policy-relevant scholarship.

  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
