About the Role:
The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, is inviting applications for the position of Project Manager: SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics). The selected candidate will lead the SOGIESC Unit’s efforts in advancing equality, inclusion, and human rights for LGBTQIA+ persons across Africa through research, advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships.

Eligibility:

  • Advanced degree in Law, Human Rights, or a related social science discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SOGIESC and human rights issues within Africa.
  • Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of SOGIESC-related projects.
  • Oversee research publications, advocacy campaigns, and training programmes.
  • Coordinate with regional and international partners to strengthen human rights networks.
  • Contribute to fundraising and reporting in alignment with institutional goals.
