About the Role:
The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, is inviting applications for the position of Project Manager: SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics). The selected candidate will lead the SOGIESC Unit’s efforts in advancing equality, inclusion, and human rights for LGBTQIA+ persons across Africa through research, advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships.
Eligibility:
- Advanced degree in Law, Human Rights, or a related social science discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in SOGIESC and human rights issues within Africa.
- Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of SOGIESC-related projects.
- Oversee research publications, advocacy campaigns, and training programmes.
- Coordinate with regional and international partners to strengthen human rights networks.
- Contribute to fundraising and reporting in alignment with institutional goals.
