The NUJS Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, in collaboration with the NUJS Journal on Dispute Resolution (JODR) and with Manupatra as the knowledge partner, invites submissions for its inaugural National Essay Writing Competition. This competition provides a platform for legal minds to explore the evolving landscape of dispute resolution, including AI-driven mediation, cross-border arbitration, climate change conflicts, and insolvency frameworks.

Eligibility:

  • Open to law students, researchers, advocates, professors, and scholars interested in dispute resolution and legal innovation.

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

Themes:

  • Mediation within the insolvency framework

  • Cross-border mediation under the Singapore Convention

  • Role of AI in ADR and ODR

  • ADR in environmental and climate disputes

  • Arbitration and data protection in digital trade

  • Jurisdictional intersections between arbitration clauses and company law tribunals
