Freshworks is inviting applications for the position of Legal Counsel – Commercial at its Bengaluru office. Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree in Law with strong academic credentials.

6+ years of experience in commercial transactions at a leading law firm or multinational in-house legal department.

Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, including SaaS, vendor, data protection, and partnership agreements.

Strong understanding of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), IP, and cybersecurity regulations.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) and other legal technology tools is preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology agreements (cloud/SaaS, reseller, managed services, data protection, etc.).

Lead complex negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners while ensuring global regulatory compliance.

Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and standard clauses to streamline global legal operations.

Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Deals Desk, and Professional Services teams to support transactions and vendor onboarding.

Advise senior management on risk mitigation, compliance, and corporate governance strategies.

Work closely with product and technical teams on AI/ML compliance, open-source licensing, and cybersecurity issues.
