The University of the South Pacific (USP), the premier tertiary institution in the Pacific region, invites applications for Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, and Senior Lecturer positions in Law. These roles are based primarily at the Emalus campus, Vanuatu, and Laucala campus, Fiji. USP Law offers an LLB program across the South Pacific, emphasizing research excellence, regional relevance, and producing work-ready graduates.
Eligibility:

Assistant Lecturer: Postgraduate degree (Masters/PhD) from a common law system, some teaching or research experience. Legal practice experience welcomed.

Lecturer: PhD in Law or exceptional Master’s/professional qualification with strong teaching/research record, peer-reviewed publications, and capacity to supervise postgraduate research.

Senior Lecturer: PhD in Law, sustained record of peer-reviewed publications, proven tertiary teaching experience, and capacity to supervise PhD students and secure grants.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Teach core and elective LLB courses, with a focus on Criminal Law, Administrative/Public Law, Commercial/Corporations Law, Equity and Trust, Civil Procedure, and Evidence.

Conduct and publish research in line with USP’s quality standards.

Contribute to strengthening Pacific communities and societies through legal scholarship.

Supervise postgraduate research and participate in academic administration.
