About the Organizers

Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, established in 2002, is Karnataka’s only law college exclusively for women. The institution offers B.B.A., LL.B. (5 years) and LL.B. (3 years) programs and is affiliated with Karnataka State Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India.

The college is committed to empowering women through legal education, fostering discipline, leadership, and academic excellence. Various clubs and committees, including the Moot Court Club, Legal Services Clinic, Mediation Cell, and Women and Child Cell, enhance the learning experience. Events such as national and international conferences, workshops, and the INTEGRATO fest further contribute to holistic student development.

About the Moot Court Competition

Renowned as a premier national-level moot, this competition promotes legal excellence, advocacy skills, and intellectual rigor by engaging participants in pressing legal debates.

This year’s moot problem revolves around Public International Law (PIL) and Human Rights, challenging teams to analyze:

  • Statutory frameworks
  • Judicial interpretations
  • Emerging legal trends in fundamental rights protection

Participants must demonstrate strong legal research, persuasive advocacy, and analytical depth to excel in the competition.

Eligibility

The competition is open to bona fide undergraduate law students from recognized institutions pursuing either:

  • 3-year LL.B. or
  • 5-year Integrated LL.B. program.

Team Composition

  • Each team must have 2 or 3 members.
  • Teams must designate two speakers and one researcher at the time of registration.
  • A team cannot have more than three or fewer than two members.

Registration Details

  • Deadline: 2nd April 2025, by 11:59 PM (subject to extension at the organizers’ discretion)
  • Team selection is based on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 16 teams.
  • The organizers reserve the right to increase the number of teams if needed.

Registration Fee

  • Without Accommodation: ₹4,000
  • With Accommodation: ₹6,000

Competition Schedule

  • 25th April 2025 – Inauguration & Drawing of Lots
  • 26th – 27th April 2025 – Prelims, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals
