About the Role
Universal Legal is inviting applications for the position of Legal Associate – Corporate and Commercial / M&A. This role is suited for a lawyer with solid transactional exposure who can independently handle drafting, coordination and client deliverables while supporting senior lawyers on complex assignments.
Key responsibilities include:

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate and commercial contracts

Extensive work on transactional documentation including Share Subscription Agreements, Shareholders Agreements, Business Transfer Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Employment Agreements and Escrow Agreements

Conducting and assisting with legal due diligence exercises

Supporting corporate advisory, regulatory and compliance matters

Coordinating with clients, counterparties, consultants and internal teams

Assisting senior lawyers on complex transactions and strategic matters
Eligibility and Skills
-
LL.B. from a recognised university; Bar Council enrolment preferred
-
Minimum 3 years of relevant post qualification experience in corporate and commercial law

Demonstrated experience in transactional documentation and M&A support

Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills

Clear written and verbal communication
-
Ability to independently manage assignments with attention to detail and commercial awareness
