About the Opportunity
The Institute of International Relations (IIR) is inviting applications for the position of Researcher / Senior Researcher. The Institute seeks scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Security implications of new and digital technologies for international security and security governance, grounded in security studies
-
Cyber security in European and/or international contexts, including cyber defence, critical infrastructure resilience, hybrid threats, and governance of the digital space, with a clear linkage to broader security studies
Key Responsibilities
-
Conduct internationally competitive research and publish outputs in peer-reviewed international academic journals and with reputed publishing houses
-
Undertake policy analysis and support decision-makers through policy papers, ad hoc studies, and expert consultations
-
Collaborate with members of the relevant research centre on joint publications, projects, and public events
-
Engage in public discourse, including media appearances within the researcher’s area of expertise
-
Apply for external research funding and act as (co-)leader of research projects involving researchers, associate researchers, and Ph.D. students, with institutional support
Eligibility Criteria
-
Ph.D. in International Relations or a closely related discipline, or enrollment as a Ph.D. student
-
Prior research experience with a solid theoretical and methodological foundation
-
Strong academic publication record, including articles in peer-reviewed international journals and/or books or chapters with respected publishers
-
Experience in applied policy research and developing policy recommendations
-
Motivation for research excellence, initiative, reliability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
-
Residence in Prague
-
Working knowledge of Czech language is an advantage
