The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) has announced an exciting opportunity to join the Education Outreach Section of the UN Department of Global Communications as a Public Information Intern based in New York. This internship offers a unique platform to contribute to the UN’s global communication initiatives and promote educational outreach worldwide.
About the Organisation
The United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC) works to promote awareness and understanding of the UN’s mission among global audiences. Within DGC, the Education Outreach Section engages with academic institutions, students, and educators to advance the UN’s goals through education, research, and advocacy.
Eligibility

Open to students enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate or equivalent degree programme in communications, international relations, public information, or related fields.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of another UN language is an asset).

Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to its values.
Roles and Responsibilities

Assist in drafting, editing, and preparing communication materials for web and social media.

Conduct research and background analysis to support outreach activities.

Contribute to event organisation, digital campaigns, and educational initiatives.

Support in the development of UNAI programmes promoting sustainable development, human rights, and peacebuilding.
