About the Conference:
Human rights are the foundation of a just and equitable society, ensuring dignity, freedom, and fairness for all. Gender justice is an essential part of this framework, as it seeks to dismantle systemic inequalities and create a world where every individual can thrive, regardless of their identity. Gender justice being a crucial part of these conversations, plays a key role in shaping discussions around equality and social progress. However, focusing on gender alone often overlooks the complex realities of individuals who face multiple, overlapping forms of discrimination. Intersectionality helps us understand how caste, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status combine to shape people’s experiences of privilege and oppression in India. The international conference on “Voices of Justice: Gender, Family and Children’s Rights in the 21st Century,” organized by the Centre for Family Law & Gender Studies, School of Law, Bennett University will provide a platform for academicians, professionals, practitioners, researchers, NGOs, students of law and allied social sciences, and other stakeholders to engage in open dialogue and collaboration, aiming to drive meaningful change for marginalized communities.
