T.C. Ray & Co. is inviting applications for the position of Junior Associate to join its litigation practice in Kolkata. The role offers an opportunity to work on diverse litigation matters before the Calcutta High Court as well as subordinate courts.
This position is suited for young advocates looking to build practical litigation experience and gain exposure to a variety of disputes including commercial litigation, insolvency matters, constitutional issues, and civil disputes.
About the Role
The selected candidate will work closely with the litigation team and assist in handling matters across different forums. The role involves substantial involvement in legal research, drafting, case preparation, and assisting in court proceedings.
Associates will have the opportunity to develop hands-on litigation experience through active participation in client conferences, preparation for hearings, and court appearances.
Nature of Work
• Legal research and case analysis
• Drafting of pleadings, applications, and other litigation documents
• Preparation for conferences with clients and counsel
• Court visits and appearances
• Assistance in matters relating to commercial litigation, insolvency, constitutional, and civil disputes
Eligibility
• Enrolled with the State Bar Council
• AIBE cleared
Compensation
• Freshers: ₹10,000 during probation (may be increased to ₹15,000 upon satisfactory performance)
• Around one year High Court experience: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000
• More than one year experience: Up to ₹30,000
• Candidates with lower court or basic litigation experience: ₹15,000 during a 3-month probation period, with salary revisions based on performance
