About the Position: Principal Associate – Trademark & Copyright (Non-Contentious)
The firm is seeking a Principal Associate to lead its non-contentious trademark and copyright practice. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling the end-to-end lifecycle of trademark and copyright prosecution, both domestic and international. This includes strategic legal advisory, portfolio management, hearings, and business development in coordination with the Managing Partner.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the non-contentious prosecution team for trademarks and copyrights.

Manage the filing, prosecution, maintenance, and global enforcement of IP rights.

Offer strategic guidance on mark availability, risk assessments, and registration viability.

Advise clients and internal stakeholders on portfolio strategies and compliance.

Represent clients before the Trade Marks Registry and Copyright Office.

Coordinate with international associates on global IP filings.

Stay updated on legislative changes and ensure compliance with trademark laws.

Conduct trademark clearance searches and manage risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, legal, business) to align IP protection strategies.

Efficiently manage team resources and budget.
Eligibility Criteria

LLB degree from a recognized university.

Significant experience in a law firm environment, particularly in trademark and copyright law.

Proven leadership abilities and the capability to manage teams and drive strategic initiatives.

Strong communication skills and confidence in client interactions and business development.
