About Our College

Government Law College, Mumbai was founded in 1855 and has established itself as one of the most prestigious law schools in Asia. Guided by its motto “Ne vile Fano” (let no evil enter), Government Law College has groomed some of India’s most celebrated and distinguished legal minds, who have held many important legal offices and revered positions in the country. Its illustrious alumni network has dominated the who’s who list of legal professionals in India for over a century and a half. It also bears the distinction of being the only law school in India to have produced the heads of all three arms of the government. The college is renowned for exemplary legal education under the tutelage of top-class faculty, which includes legal icons like Dr. BR Ambedkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Justice M.C Chagla, Nani Palkhivala and H.D Pithawala.

About Our Event

MUNSOC is organising its annual flagship event GLC MUN since 2008, which is a pan India Conference where more than 300 delegates from various educational institutes take part to discuss, deliberate and propose solutions on matters of National as well as International concerns. This year we look forward to organising the 14th Edition of GLCMUN with the aim to educate participants about International Relations, Policies and Politics and to provide an opportunity to further their horizon of knowledge by finding strong and amicably agreed solutions to the problems which affect the entire world.

Eligibility Criteria: Students of age group 14-24

1) United Nations Security Council  (UNSC) 

Agenda – Exploring comprehensive reforms to the Security Council while deliberating on strategies to prevent the emergence of a second Cold War.

Preferred Language – English

2) United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

Agenda – Examining infringements of refugee rights and restructuring the prevalent preventive framework.

Preferred Language – English

3) United Nations General Assembly- Emergency Special Session         (UNGA-ESS)

Agenda – Discussing Israeli actions in Occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Preferred Language – English

4) United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC)

Agenda – Exploration of strategies, technologies and financing mechanisms that can foster sustainable development amidst global crisis.

Preferred Language – English

5) All India Political Parties Meet (Historic) (AIPPM)

Agenda – Deliberating on the aftermath of the Proclamation of Emergency, 1975 and the Constitution (Forty- Fourth) Amendment Bill, 1978.

Preferred Language – Hindi, English

6) Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA)

Agenda – Deliberation on the restructuring of reservations in Maharashtra.

Preferred Language – Marathi, English

7) Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice (PSC)

Agenda – Review of the nation’s Electoral system and potential reforms with emphasis on:

  1. i) Assessing the practicality of One Nation One Election.
  2. ii) Improving safeguards against malpractices in the electoral process. Preferred Language- Hindi, English

8) International Press (IP)

Available Roles – Journalist or Photographer
