The UNFCCC–UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications from young graduates in the Global South who are passionate about climate action, research, and international policy.

About the Programme
This prestigious fellowship is jointly offered by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS). Fellows will be based in Bonn, Germany for a period of 12 to 24 months, contributing to global climate governance, research, and communication efforts.

Eligibility

  • Open to nationals of developing countries, with priority for women from Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

  • Must be 32 years of age or younger.

  • Final-term or recent graduates holding a Master’s or PhD in climate studies, environmental sciences, communications, international relations, or related disciplines.

  • Up to 2 years of professional experience (not mandatory).

  • Strong command of English (written and spoken).
