CBI Law Internship Scheme – 2025

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is inviting applications for its Law Internship Scheme – 2025, offering a unique opportunity for 30 law students to gain practical experience by working with CBI officers across Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Bangalore. Selected interns will assist in legal research and support prosecution and investigation efforts through empirical data collection and analysis.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

Be a citizen of India.
Be enrolled in a Graduate law course at a recognized Law University/Institute.
For 5-year integrated LLB students: Must have completed or be in the 8th semester.
For 3-year LLB students: Must have completed or be in the 4th semester.

Internship Conditions

Unpaid: No stipend will be provided. Interns must make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation.
No employment guarantee: Completion of the internship does not entitle the intern to future employment with CBI.
Nature of Work:
- Legal research and drafting
- Assisting in preparation of court documents and presentations
- Trial preparation and pair work
- Data collection, documentation, and any other task assigned by senior officers
Interns must sign an Oath of Secrecy upon joining, which will remain binding during and after the internship.

Duration

The internship will span a period of 3 to 6 months, depending on CBI’s requirements and intern availability.

30 interns will be selected and assigned across the following locations:

Delhi
Mumbai
Chennai
Kolkata
Lucknow
Bangalore
