Call for Papers Vol IV, Issue I || JOURNAL FOR DISPUTE RESOLUTION

ABOUT
The Journal for Dispute Resolution (JDR) is an open-access, biannual, and double-blind peer-reviewed journal of MNLU-CS. The journal aims to provide a platform for meaningful discourse on contemporary legal issues surrounding ADR in India and international jurisdictions. The Journal primarily seeks to promote interest, research and academic writing among academia, practitioners, students and research scholars alike.

With utmost pleasure, the JDR released its First Volume namely Journal for Dispute Resolution-Volume I, in July 2023 and Volume II in May 2024 and Volume III in August 2025, dedicated to the field of ADR. As the Centre celebrates this achievement, we look forward to continuing this journey of knowledge dissemination and academic excellence through calling for submissions for its Fourth Volume.

SUB THEMES
The Journal welcomes submissions on any of the following sub-themes:
Arbitration in Intellectual Property Disputes: Arbitrability of an Infringement dispute over the Internet.
Extension of curative jurisdiction over arbitral awards: Effects on the Indian arbitration regime.
Public Policy of India and International Commercial Arbitration
Generative AI and Arbitration
Note: The above sub-themes are only suggestive. The journal welcomes submissions on any contemporary topic related to domestic and international arbitration and other contemporary topics on Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
JDR welcomes original and previously unpublished articles – short and long, case comments and legislative/policy comments for publication in its upcoming issue (Volume IV, 2026). Submissions for the upcoming issue will be accepted till 31st December, 2025.

Kindly submit your Manuscript on the Google Form. ( Google form link).

Articles or works directly mailed to JDR email address will not be addressed.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES REGARDING THE SUBMISSIONS
Authorship
Co-authorship up to two authors is allowed.
Every authorship or co-authorship is limited to a maximum of one submission.
Students, academicians, professionals, and doctoral researchers are invited to submit their work.
Submissions are accepted in the ENGLISH language only
Word Count
Short Articles are typically up to 2500 to 3500 words (Abstract of 200 words).
Long Articles are typically up to 4000 to 8000 words (Abstract of 200 words).
Case comments are typically up to 2000 to 3000 words.
Legislative/Policy comments are typically up to 2500 to 3500 words (Abstract 200 words).
All the above-mentioned word counts are exclusive of footnotes.
Format and Citation
Font type and size of the main text must be Times Roman, 12.
Font type and size of the footnotes must be Times Roman, 10.
The main text and footnotes must have a line spacing of 1.5 and 1, respectively.
Citation style must adhere to Bluebook (21st Edition).
Each submission should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 200 words and five keywords.
Relevant details of the author and their affiliation would be captured only through Google Form. The submission should not contain any reference to the identity of the author to enable anonymous screening and peer review.
Manuscripts must be in MS-Word (docx) format.

Review Process
The review process follows an anonymous, independent, and robust approach.

The review process consists of three stages: a preliminary check, editorial review, and peer review.
During the preliminary check, submissions undergo an AI-assisted screening and plagiarism check to ensure originality and compliance with submission guidelines.
After clearing the preliminary check, the Student Editorial Board reviews the submission for relevance, clarity, and overall quality.
Submissions that meet these standards proceed to the double-blind peer review conducted by the Peer Review Board, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Open Access
JDR adheres to the Open Access Policy.
The content of the Journal is freely available on the University’s website without any time limit, enabling access to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, and ensuring that articles reach a wider audience.

EDITORIAL POLICY
Only original and unpublished work must be submitted for consideration for JDR. The submitted work must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Author(s) must take particular care that their work does not infringe on the rights of third parties and that they have obtained necessary permissions for cited work.
All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts found to be plagiarised will be rejected. The prescribed word limit excludes the abstract and footnotes, with a relaxation of up to 10% at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Submissions will also be screened for AI-generated content, against which the Journal follows a strict zero-tolerance policy.
While all efforts will be made to inform the corresponding author of the progress of the submission through various stages of review, due to the high volume of submissions received by the journal, a personalised response may not be possible in every instance.
Decisions of the Editorial Board on all matters shall be final.
Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines provided shall not be considered for review.
There are no submission fees, publication fees or page charges for this journal.

COPYRIGHT POLICY
Submissions made to JDR must be exclusive and must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere. The contribution presented to and accepted for publication, along with the copyrights therein, shall be the Intellectual property of JDR and vested with JDR. The author(s) are to cite their sources and acknowledge the sources for the content that is not original. The author submitting the manuscript agrees to give the JDR all the necessary rights to produce, distribute and publish the manuscript, including but not limited to offline or online media.
