ABOUT UILS

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Chandigarh was established as a Constituent Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh in the year 2004-05. To create highly qualified international legal professionals, the Department provides distinctive five-year integrated undergraduate programs including B.Com. L.Lb. (Hons.), and B.A. L.Lb. (Hons.) and two postgraduate courses – LLM (one year) and LLM (two years). As a center for expertise in legal studies, UILS is dedicated to the growth of educational and professional development of the young minds with a goal to provide the students with the knowledge and abilities necessary to grasp, identify, and develop solutions to complex legal and other interdisciplinary situations.

ABOUT USLR

The UILS Student Law Review (USLR) is a referred and peer-reviewed bi-annual journal published by the Student Editorial-Board of University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The Journal seeks to publish quality submissions on issues of contemporary legal relevance. Being the inaugural edition of the journal, we are looking forward to receive submissions exploring nuanced aspects of law that contribute to the legal discourse. The Editorial Board shall also give feedback and suggestions to the authors so as to better their understanding in diverse fields of law, thereby promoting a vibrant culture of legal writing.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Formatting guidelines

  1. The USLR follows the ‘Indian Law Institute (ILI)’ citation standard. The usage of speaking footnotes and endnotes is highly discouraged.
  2. The body of the manuscript must be in font: Times New Roman, size: 12 and spacing: 1.5 spacing
  3. The footnotes must be in font: Times New Roman, size: 10 and spacing: single spacing

Review Process

The manuscripts will undergo a rigorous review process which usually takes 8-12 weeks. (tentatively). The authors shall be updated at every stage of the process. The Editorial Board reserves the right to recommend changes to the authors, if any. The decision with regard to selection of manuscripts by the Editorial Board would be final.

Deadline for Submission

  1. The manuscripts must be sent to uilsstudentlawreview@gmail.com in Word format (.doc/.docx).
  2. The last date for submission of manuscripts is November 23, 2023.
