About the Journal
The Legal Journal on Technology (TLJT) is an interdisciplinary publication dedicated to exploring the intersection of law and technology. Led by law students from esteemed institutions, TLJT aims to bridge the gap between rapid technological advancements and legal frameworks.
The journal covers emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cybercrime, and regulatory developments while also addressing contemporary legal and policy challenges.
For Issue 2, Volume 1 (Summer Edition), TLJT invites original manuscripts that provide in-depth analysis, critical insights, and innovative perspectives on tech-law issues.
Submission Categories & Word Limits
- Short Articles: 2,500 – 3,500 words
- Long Essays: 3,500 – 6,000 words
- Research Papers: 6,000 – 10,000 words
(Word limits exclude the abstract and footnotes. Exceptions may be considered based on quality.)
Citations & Formatting Guidelines
- Citation Style: OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities)
- File Format: .doc or .docx
- Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing
- Abstract: Maximum 200 words (mandatory)
- Images/Diagrams: Authors are encouraged to include original flowcharts, infographics, or illustrations to enhance understanding.
Exclusive Features & Additional Guidelines
1. Interactive & Data-Driven Content
- Authors are encouraged to include hyperlinks, interactive elements, and multimedia content for better engagement.
- Submission of supplementary datasets, software tools, or AI models is welcomed.
2. Predictive Analysis & Future Trends
- Manuscripts focusing on emerging trends, regulatory foresight, and future legal-tech landscapes will be given preference.
3. Open Peer Review Process
- TLJT follows an open peer review policy where authors and reviewers are aware of each other’s identities, fostering a collaborative scholarly exchange.
- Authors may submit responses to reviewer comments, which may be published alongside their article.
4. Legal Technology Integration
- Submissions demonstrating the use of legal tech tools (e.g., AI-assisted legal research, blockchain contracts) should include a brief section on the tools used and their impact.
5. Ethical Considerations & Responsible AI Usage
- Authors must disclose any AI tools used in manuscript preparation and discuss ethical implications of the technological issue under review.
- Over-reliance on AI-generated content is prohibited.
6. Living Documents & Rapid Response Articles
- TLJT accepts living documents—articles that authors can periodically update based on new developments.
- A ‘rapid response’ track is available for urgent legal-tech developments (1,500 – 2,500 words) with an accelerated review process.
7. Collaborative & Mentored Submissions
- The journal welcomes interdisciplinary collaborations between legal scholars, technologists, and practitioners.
- First-time authors can request mentorship from the Editorial Board during manuscript preparation.
