About:
The European Yearbook on Human Rights (EYHR) has announced its Call for Papers for the 2026 edition, focusing on topical developments in human rights in and beyond Europe. The 2026 edition will commemorate the anniversaries of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). This issue will explore how the European human rights system, anchored in the Council of Europe, the EU, and the OSCE, interacts with and is shaped by international and other regional human rights systems.
Eligibility:
The Call is open to academics, practitioners, policymakers, and human rights advocates with an interest in international and regional human rights law.
Themes of Interest:
Submissions may address, but are not limited to:

The legacy and relevance of the ICCPR and ICESCR in Europe.

European leadership and innovation in human rights protection.
-
Areas where the European system has faced challenges or can learn from other regional systems.

Collaboration between European and international mechanisms on global issues such as AI, climate change, and pandemics.
Submission Guidelines:

Abstract length: Maximum 500 words.

Deadline for abstracts: 5 December 2025.

Deadline for full manuscripts: End of March 2026.
