About Nirma University
Founded in 2007, the Institute of Law at Nirma University (ILNU) was established with the vision of Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, aiming to bring a transformative shift in the delivery of legal education in India. ILNU seeks to incorporate international standards of education and provide an environment conducive to innovation and holistic development. It is committed to imparting quality legal education that has produced distinguished lawyers, leaders, and policymakers.


About Nirma University Law Journal

The Nirma University Law Journal (NULJ) is a bi-annual, peer-reviewed publication from the Institute of Law, Nirma University. The Journal is indexed in prestigious databases such as HeinOnline, EBSCO, Manupatra, SCC Online, and the Indian Citation Index. The Journal invites submissions that continue to uphold its mission of disseminating original and innovative research in legal and interdisciplinary studies.


Themes and Sub-themes

The Journal invites research articles, case studies, commentaries, policy briefs, and book reviews on law and allied areas, with a preference for scholarly, research-based submissions. While there is no specific theme, contributions that highlight contemporary legal issues of national and international significance will be prioritized.


Submission Guidelines

  • Word Limit:

    • Research Papers: 4,000-6,000 words

    • Policy Briefs & Case Studies/Commentaries: 2,000-3,000 words

    • Book Reviews: 800-1,000 words

  • Abstract: A 250-word abstract must accompany each submission.

  • Eligibility: Open to students, academics, researchers, and professionals in law and allied disciplines such as Social Sciences & Humanities.

  • Citation Style: The Bluebook Uniform System of Citation (20th edition) must be followed.

  • Formatting:

    • Main text: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing

    • Footnotes: Times New Roman, size 10, 1.0 line spacing

  • Plagiarism: Submissions must be original, with zero tolerance for plagiarism. The journal adheres strictly to UGC plagiarism guidelines.

  • Publication Policy: Submitted works must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors must grant exclusive permission to NULJ for publication and reproduction of their work. The editors reserve the right to edit or reject articles that contain offensive or discriminatory content.


How to Submit?

  1. Register: Create an account on the Journal submission portal.

  2. Submit Manuscript:

    • Provide preliminary information (title, abstract, etc.)

    • Upload the manuscript file

    • Confirm your submission

    • Once submitted, the editor will be notified.

  3. Respond to Review:

    • Revise your manuscript based on feedback

    • Submit the revised version

    • Follow any copyediting or proofreading requests from the editor.


Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: May 30, 2025

  • Review Notification: June 30, 2025

  • Publication Date: July 31, 2025
