About the Seminar

The Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, is organizing a National Seminar on March 1, 2025, titled:
“Parental Incarceration and the Hidden Toll on the Well-Being of the Child: Issues, Challenges, and Way Forward.”

This seminar is conducted under the Centre of Excellence scheme, sponsored by the Uttar Pradesh Government, to examine the impact of parental incarceration on children’s well-being.

Background:
Children of incarcerated parents are often “hidden victims”—facing psychological strain, social stigma, financial difficulties, and educational setbacks. These children require support from local, state, and federal systems to mitigate the long-term consequences of parental imprisonment.

Eligibility

  • Academicians, lawyers, and scholars are invited to contribute papers for the seminar.
  • Co-authorship: Allowed for up to two authors.
  • No TA/DA shall be provided—participants must arrange funding from their respective institutions.
