The CCI is responsible for preventing practices that have an adverse effect on competition, such as anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominant position, and anti-competitive mergers and acquisitions.

About the Conference

Competition Law in India has become an increasingly relevant and dynamic field, with recent developments and reforms aimed at promoting fair competition and protecting the interests of consumers. In recent years, several contemporary issues have arisen in the Indian competition law landscape, such as the intersection between competition law and intellectual property, the role of competition law in the digital economy, and the treatment of abuse of dominance and restrictive trade practices. These issues are critical to the development of a robust competition regime in India and require continuous examination and discussion.

Thus, “CARCIL National Conference on Anti-Trust Laws” provides a platform to engage in such discussions and to gain a deeper understanding of the current state of competition law in India and its future direction. It is a unique opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, share insights, and build new relationships with peers and experts from around the world. With a focus on cutting-edge research and practical applications, the conference will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Anti-trust law today, and equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in this rapidly evolving field.

The conference consists of two sessions. The first session will be a Panel Discussion followed by a technical session of Paper Presentation.

Panel Discussion

This session of the Conference would be a Panel Discussion, where professionals from the legal, academic, and business communities would discuss issues on “Big-Tech’s Tussle with Anti-Trust Laws” and the growing concerns about the power and influence of large technology companies, and their impact on competition, innovation, and consumer welfare. We invite academicians, legal practitioners, and students to attend the Panel Discussion as this session will be an informed discussion and analysis of the ongoing debates and developments in anti-trust laws and regulations, and how they are being applied to the tech sector. The session aims to explore the implications of these developments for the future of competition, innovation, and consumer protection in the digital age.

Paper Presentation

The CARCIL invite authors to submit original, unpublished manuscripts, along with an abstract, for presentation in the Conference under the below-mentioned theme to contribute to the discourse around the contemporary issues in Anti-Trust laws. After reviewing all the manuscripts, the shortlisted authors will be invited to present their manuscripts before the experts on the day of the Conference.

The paper presentation session will be a platform for authors to share their research and findings with an audience of experts and peers.
