The National Legal Rights Consortium (NLRC) operates under the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), a leading national business chamber dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs, business professionals, and leaders across various sectors. WICCI actively advocates for the interests of women professionals and entrepreneurs, driving impact across industries and communities.
About the Opportunity
The Delhi Legal Rights Consortium, a division of NLRC-WICCI, is inviting online applications for membership in the State Legal Rights Consortium for the 2024-25 term. This initiative is open to female law students in India who are passionate about legal rights advocacy and social justice.
Each State Legal Rights Consortium will consist of at least 20 members, along with a President and a Vice President, working towards the following objectives:
- Legal Rights Advocacy – Engaging in legal reforms and policy initiatives to strengthen rights at the state level.
- Awareness & Education – Conducting public outreach programs to inform and empower individuals about their legal rights.
- Legal Assistance & Pro Bono Support – Connecting communities with legal aid and resources, ensuring access to justice.
- Legislative Engagement – Collaborating with lawmakers and government bodies to propose and influence legal reforms.
- Rights Monitoring & Reporting – Tracking and reporting instances of rights violations to support accountability and justice.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be either a resident of Delhi or studying in an institution based in Delhi.
- Be enrolled in a law program at a university or college recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- Have prior internship experience with law firms, legal organizations, or advocates.
- Possess skills in social media management, public relations, or content creation.
- Be proficient in design tools such as Adobe or Canva.
- Identify as female, as this opportunity is exclusively for women.
Mode of Work
Hybrid (combination of remote and in-person work).
Role & Responsibilities
As a Member of the Consortium, you will:
- Collaborate with Consortium leaders, including the President and Vice President, to shape strategic initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to advance the organization’s mission.
- Work closely with fellow Consortium Members to foster a solution-driven leadership team, ensuring clear communication and well-defined responsibilities.
- Lead community education and outreach programs, promoting legal awareness and capacity-building among individuals.
- Develop policy recommendations, partnership proposals, and advocacy strategies, engaging with relevant government and industry stakeholders to drive impactful reforms.
- Take part in hands-on community engagement and high-impact initiatives, supporting the broader vision of legal empowerment and justice.
