About the Opportunity

The Andhra Pradesh Legal Rights Consortium, functioning under NLRC-WICCI, invites applications for membership in the State Legal Rights Consortium for the 2024-25 term. This membership opportunity is open to female law students in India who are passionate about advocating for and safeguarding legal rights.

Each State Legal Rights Consortium will consist of a minimum of 20 members, along with a Vice President and a President, all working towards the following key objectives:

  • Advocating for Legal Rights: Engaging in reform initiatives and advocating for the protection and enhancement of rights at the state level.
  • Raising Awareness: Educating the public about their legal rights and empowering individuals to exercise them effectively.
  • Providing Legal Support & Assistance: Establishing a network of legal professionals to offer pro bono assistance to those unable to afford legal services.
  • Collaborating with Legislators: Engaging with policymakers and government bodies to influence legal reforms that align with justice and rights protection.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Actively tracking legal violations and reporting instances of injustice to ensure prompt action.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh or enrolled in a law institute in the state.
Should be a law student from a BCI-recognized university or college.
Prior experience in legal internships with firms, organizations, or advocates is preferred.
Experience in social media management, public relations, or visual content development is an advantage.
Proficiency in design tools like Adobe, Canva, etc. is desirable.
Open exclusively to women.

Mode of Work

Hybrid (Online & Offline engagements as required).

Role & Responsibilities

As a Consortium Member, you will play a key role in achieving the organization’s vision. Your responsibilities include:

Strategic Planning: Collaborating with the President and Vice President to develop a structured roadmap aligned with the Consortium’s mission and objectives.
Team Collaboration: Working with fellow members to build a solutions-driven leadership team, defining roles, and fostering open communication.
Community Engagement & Education: Leading initiatives to educate communities, share best practices, and encourage legal awareness.
Policy Development & Advocacy: Drafting recommendations, proposing public-private partnerships, and engaging with government bodies to advocate for impactful legal changes.
Legal Monitoring & Reporting: Identifying and reporting human rights or legal violations while ensuring necessary interventions.

Your contribution—ranging from strategic development to hands-on advocacy—will be integral in driving meaningful change.
