About
The African Human Rights Law Journal (AHRLJ), published by Pretoria University Law Press (PULP), has been a leading forum for scholarship on human rights in Africa since 2001. Indexed in SCOPUS and IBSS, the Journal will mark its 25th year of continuous publication in December 2025. With the departure of one of its founding co-editors, the AHRLJ now seeks qualified scholars to join its editorial team as co-editor(s).
Eligibility
- Scholars with expertise in domestic and international human rights, with a strong focus on Africa.
- While most submissions are legal in nature, the Journal also welcomes applicants with perspectives in related disciplines such as political science.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Shaping and contributing to the Journal’s editorial policy.
- Identifying peer reviewers and overseeing the review process.
- Communicating with authors throughout the review cycle (note: language and style editing is handled separately).
